Google Slides is a free web-based presentation program. We're going to show you how to create and format a presentation, navigate Google Slides, add media and animations, and present and export your presentation.

Creating a Presentation

To make a blank presentation in Google Drive, click "New," then "Google Slides," then "Blank presentation." You can also type Any web browser's URL bar may be used to instantly create and start a new blank document by entering "slides. new" and pressing enter. Click on "Untitled presentation" and provide a new name to rename your presentation.

Formatting a Presentation

Google Slides comes preloaded with a variety of slide themes. Your empty presentation's right side is where the theme sidebar displays.

Choose the theme you want from this list. You'll be able to customize these if you want. To choose your aspect ratio, go to "File," then "Page setup." Your choices are standard 4:3, widescreen 16:9, widescreen 16:10, and custom.

Navigating Google Slides

The left sidebar displays the slides that you've made, and the body of the screen displays the slide you're currently working on.

From the left sidebar, click on the slide you want to edit. Click on the text and type to add more text. When selecting the text, new options appear in the toolbar above. The border and background color of the text box may both be modified.

You may change the typeface, font size, color, and styles like bold, underlining, and italic using the icons on the right side. Text boxes can be resized or moved about the screen by clicking and dragging them. To add new slides, click the plus button on the upper left side of the screen. Delete slides by selecting the slide and clicking "Edit," then "Delete."

Adding Media

You might wish to select a different style for it if you want a media slide instead of a text slide.

To do this, pick a new slide layout by clicking the arrow button next to the addition button. To add an image, click the image button in the toolbar or go to "Insert," "Image." Click on the image you want and press "Select" if it's from archives or stock images, or click "Open" if it's from the upload option. The picture will now be placed on your slide and may be resized and adjusted as needed.

Adding Animation

By selecting the transition button from the toolbar, you may add a transition. An animation sidebar will appear. The slide menu controls animations between slides. There are six transition options available. Pick one from the drop-down menu. Then choose the transition speed using the slow-fast slider beneath the drop-down menu.

By selecting the "Add to all slides" option in the animation sidebar, you can quickly apply transitions between all of your presentations. Additionally, slides can include animated individual elements. Click on an item on the slide to select it, then select "Object Animations" from the sidebar of animations.

An animation can be started manually by choosing the "On click" option, or automatically by choosing the "After previous" or "With previous" choices. Press "Play" to get a preview of your animation.

Presenting and Exporting

Once the presentation is complete, use the "Present" button to present your work. To export your presentation as an a .PPTX file, click "File," then "Download as," then "Microsoft PowerPoint."
