What is Snapchat & How To Use Snapchat on any Device? – Tips4IT4Task

Although the functionality is the same between iOS and Android, today we are going to show you how to use Snapchat on iOS.

Adding Snapchat Accounts

Once you’ve created an account and signed in to Snapchat, a screen will appear that says, “Find your friends.” Press “Continue” and allow Snapchat to access your contacts. The app will then go through your directory and list the people in your contact list who use Snapchat. Tap the Add button to the right of your contacts to be able to send photos and view stories.

It’s okay if you press “Skip” on that first screen to find friends. By touching on the symbol in the upper right corner, you may also add friends. It shows a person and a plural sign in a circle. It will also pull people who use Snapchat from your contacts. Once more, adding someone is as simple as hitting the “Add” button next to their name.

If you want to follow specific influencers or people who aren’t in your contacts, hit the “Find Friends” bar and type in that person’s name or username. Hit the “Subscribe” button to the right of their name, and you’ll be able to see their pictures.

Taking a Snap

Now we will take our first picture. Double-tap anywhere on the screen to switch between your phone’s front and rear cameras. To take a photo, tap the big white circle at the bottom of the screen. To take a video, press and hold the white button and let go when you’re done recording.

Editing your Snap

To apply a filter to your snap, tap the smiley face in the bottom right. Scroll through your options, and when you’ve picked a filter you like, tap it to take a photo or hold it to take a video.

Snapchat gives you a variety of editing options for your snaps. To add text, tap anywhere on the image and the text bar will appear. After typing what you want, you can change the color using the sliding scale on the top right. You can also change the font by tapping on the options on your text.

When you’re done editing your text, hit “Done” on your keyboard. Now you can move the text anywhere on the screen with your finger.

Use two fingers to angle and adjust the size of the text. You can also draw on Snap. Tap the stylus icon on the right to draw your color options.

Use two fingers to adjust the stroke size after choosing a color. Use your finger to draw anywhere on the snap.

If you want to undo a stroke, hit the curved arrow at the top right. To finish drawing, tap the stylus icon. Tap the page icon below the stylus to add stickers, time, weather, and more to your photo.

You can also use your fingers to change their position, angle, and size. Add even more flair to your snaps by scrolling through the background filters. To navigate between general and location-specific choices, swipe left. If your Snap is a photo, use the timer icon in the bottom right to choose how many seconds someone can view the snap, from one second to no limit.

Sending your Snap

Now you are ready to send your photo. At the bottom right, click the “Send” button. You’ll have the option to send the Snap to individual friends, all your friends, or make it public.

To send to individual friends, tap their names and confirm by pressing “Send” at the bottom right. You can deselect friends by tapping their names a second time.

Sending a snap to your story means all your friends will be able to see your photo for 24 hours. To post to your story, tap “My Story” and hit “Send” in the bottom right. You can also post your snap to the Snap Map, which means every Snapchat user can see your story.

Settings Page

You can change your settings by tapping your Snapchat icon in the top left, then the settings wheel on the right. Scroll down to “WHO CAN” and adjust who can contact you, see your story, and see your location.

Chatting with Friends

To chat with friends, swipe left to view your friends’ pages. Here, you can chat with friends. You just tap on their names. You can type, take another photo, send stickers, and send photos and videos from your camera roll.

To chat with any of your Snapchat friends, tap the icon in the top right, scroll through your friends, and tap the person or people you want to chat with. A group chat will begin after multiple members have been chosen.
